Our History

Grace Baptist Church in Delta, Utah was started after evangelistic meetings initiated by Wally Higgins from Northwest Baptist Missions.  They were held at the Millard County School District from June 7-10, 1983.  The first church services were held June 12, 1983.  Northwest Baptist Missions supplied the preachers to fill the pulpit.  On November 25, 1983, the church rented the “Lunch Bucket” building which was eventually purchased and renovated.  Pastor Dennis Cason came to preach on December 18, 1983, and was called to be the pastor on January 10, 1984.

June 10, 1983: First meetings – Millard County School Office.  Pastor Higgins, Pastor Terwilliger, and Pastor Vance conducted the meeting.  Seven people from town attended.

June 12, 1983: First church meeting – Nine people from town attended.

June 20, 1983: Organization of an Independent Fundamental Baptist Church.  Articles of Faith, Constitution and By-laws, Church Membership Covenant presented and accepted.  Name of church: Grace Baptist Church.

July 10, 1983: Charter members voted in

August 20, 1983: First full-time missionaries – Larry and Carolyn Hultquist (Peru) and Wally and Norma Higgins (Northwest Baptist Mission-Salt Lake City, UT)

January 10, 1984: Church voted and called Dennis Cason as pastor.

January 1, 2015: Pastor Cason retired from the church and Pastor Tim became pastor.
